Eligibility Requirements & Entry Fees
Commercials must have first aired between:
February 23, 2009 - February 7, 2010 or
February 8, 2010 - March 7, 2010 .
Airing is defined as commercial release, commissioned by a client, for television, theater, the Internet, mobile phone, or any other medium able to deliver motion picture imagery.
Commercials as aired are limited to no more than 2 minutes. Cut down versions are not eligible. Exceptions are the Next categories, which have no running time limit.
Directors' cuts and unaired versions of existing aired commercials will be disqualified.
Entries may be submitted by production companies, agencies, advertisers or any individual or firm engaged in the creation of commercials or elements of commercials.
Exceptions to the airing requirements are the Student Commercial and Spec Spot categories, which must have been produced during the eligibility period and cannot have aired.
- Only commercials aired in the United States or produced from the U.S. office of a production company for an international market are eligible for entry
- Commercials entered in the Next categories may have been produced and aired anywhere in the world.
- Only Commercials produced by a production company not located in the U.S., and airing outside of the U.S. may be entered in Advertising Excellence/ International.
- Commercials for air internationally are eligible for entry in the craft categories (Animation, Visual Effects, Editorial, Graphic Design, Original Music, Sound Design, Musical Arrangement) if the craft was done at a company office located in the U.S. - e.g. the music for an international spot was composed by a New York-based music company.
Entry Fees
Deadlines for entries and payment are :
March 1, 2010 (For work airing February 23, 2009 to February 7, 2010)
March 12, 2010 (For work airing February 8, 2010 to March 7, 2010).
*Special discounts for Early Bird Deadline: Jan 15th (see below in Entry Fees for details).
Please finalize your entries for the submission deadline by midnight Pacific standard time (PST) on March 1st (March 12). Entries finalized at 12:01 am (PST) March 2nd (March 13th) or thereafter will be subject to late fees. Tape entries must be finalized on the website by the deadline, but tape packages and/or payment may be sent on deadline day via overnight service to arrive March 2nd (March 13th) with no penalty. Late fees will also be applied to late payments.
Please send one check payable in US dollars, for the total amount of the entry fees. Entry fees may be paid online by credit card, and will be assessed a 3.25% processing fee. For international entrants wishing to pay via wire transfer, please call (212) 929-3000 for details.

Entry fees are as follows:
A special Early Bird entry fee will be charged for entries finalized and paid in full by January 15th. For each single entry $165 and each Campaign entry $315.
A single entry, including the single categories in Next: $175
A campaign entry (Campaign category only -- 3 spots): $325
A Next Integrated Campaign entry: $325
Entries in the Student Commercial category will be accepted without an entry fee.No late entries will be accepted after the 1st deadline of March 1. No exceptions.

Late entries are assessed a $75 processing fee per entry (i.e., late fees are $250 per single entry; $400 per campaign entry).
Entry fees are non-refundable. AICP is not responsible for incorrect or incomplete entries.
Judging Procedures
The jury will consist of members of the AICP, advertising professionals and crafts experts. Jury members are prohibited from voting on their own work. Individual juries will be assembled for each category.
A Curatorial Committee is assembled to review the judging results, and at its discretion may limit or eliminate recognition of any category in which entries are not consistent with the standards of quality that the Show requires. Up to three top choices in each category will be included in the AICP Show, with the exception of the Advertising Excellence/Single and Advertising Excellence/Campaign categories, which have only one honoree.
Notification of Finalists
The finalists selected for the Show will be notified of their status, and will be required to provide the honored entry in HD-CAM format at their own expense. Only the person identified as the entrant will be contacted with the results.
Following the June debut, entrants whose spots are chosen for exhibition in the Show will receive certificates announcing their place in the film archives of The Museum of Modern Art.
