Scott Treude
Upon graduating from the University of Maryland in 1992 with a B.S. in Physics, Scott Treude worked at the University's Thermoluminescent Dosimetric Archaeometry Laboratory, doing quartz crystal isolation and writing basic programs to model electron movements in quartz during thermal stimulation. We know, we know, like, who hasn't done THAT??
Scott then took a position at Teledyne Isotopes, where, like many young men his age, he developed TLD Radiation Badge Case Algorithms. Afterward, in a shift away from the unusual, esoteric and arcane, Scott spent the next several years working in IT on various projects that most lay people could wrap their heads around, but which were nonetheless expressions of Scott's inherent genius.
In 1999, Scott went to work for the Sci-Fi Channel/USA Networks as a web developer and later, another position where he created a content management system. Scott then returned to USA Networks (now Universal Television), where he developed still more applications, cool flash pieces, and awesome 3D shockwave games.
In 2004, Scott began the work at Nice Shoes that culminated in the creation of Nice Spots. Nice Spots is one of Scott's proudest achievements to date, though he admits that for pure thermal electron stimulation, nothing quite beats Thermoluminescent Dosimetric Archaeometry.
